LCPS Level 4 Safeguarding

This Level 4 Safeguarding course at LCPS is designed to strengthen practitioners’ knowledge and skills in safeguard behaviour and their potential impact on employees and workplace cultures ring to work in roles where safeguarding is a key responsibility (such as education, social care, health, or community settings). Learners will explore legislation, best practice, risk assessment, and inter-agency working to safeguard and protect individuals from harm.

Overview

By the end of the course, learners will:

• Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) and Deputy DSLs
• Safeguarding or Protection Officers
• Registered Managers and Team Leaders in health, care, or education
• Senior Teachers, Headteachers, and Governors
• Human Resources or Compliance Managers
• Directors, Trustees, or Board Members with safeguarding responsibilities
• Safeguarding Trainers or those who supervise safeguarding staff

Duration

Online = 2 - 3 Hours

Learning Aims & Outcome

This can include a variety of tasks, such as:

• Explain the statutory, regulatory, and organisational frameworks underpinning safeguarding in the UK.
• Evaluate safeguarding policies, procedures, and governance structures to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
• Lead safeguarding practice within their organisation, providing guidance, supervision, and oversight to colleagues.
• Manage complex safeguarding cases, demonstrating sound judgment in decision-making and escalation.
• Collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners, contributing to strategic safeguarding initiatives.
• Apply reflective practice to review incidents and improve organisational safeguarding performance.
• Promote a safeguarding culture that prioritises prevention, accountability, and learning from experience.

Assesment

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 100%. The answers are marked automatically so you will instantly know whether you have passed. If you don’t pass don’t worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
