Understanding Intent, Implementation and Impact in the EYFS

Understanding Intent, Implementation and Impact in the EYFS

Intent, Implementation and Impact sit at the centre of how Ofsted judges the quality of education in early years settings. They are not an additional framework or a set of expectations designed only for schools; they are the lens through which inspectors understand how well children are supported to learn and develop from their earliest experiences. In the EYFS, these concepts help explain the purpose behind practice, how that practice is delivered, and the difference it makes for children.
