Basic First Aid at Work refresher

First aid is the initial assistance given to someone who is injured or suddenly unwell before professional medical help arrives. In the workplace, it plays a vital role in preserving life, preventing conditions from worsening, and promoting recovery. Prompt and effective first aid can reduce the severity of injuries, support faster recovery, and even save lives. In high-risk environments—such as construction, manufacturing, or kitchens—being prepared with the knowledge and confidence to act can make a critical difference.

Employers have a legal duty to ensure that appropriate first aid arrangements are in place under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. This includes providing trained personnel, maintaining accessible equipment, and ensuring that staff are familiar with procedures.

Assesment

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 100%.
