Infection Prevention and Control

The purpose of this course is to provide healthcare workers with the essential knowledge and understanding required to prevent and control the spread of infection in healthcare and related settings. Infection prevention and control (IPC) is a critical element of safe and effective care, protecting patients, staff, visitors, and the wider community from avoidable harm caused by healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs).

• Recognise legal, professional, and organisational responsibilities in preventing HCAIs.

Assesment

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 100%. The answers are marked automatically so you will instantly know whether you have passed. If you don’t pass don’t worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
