Safeguarding Children and Child Sexual Exploitation
Child exploitation is a form of child abuse in which an adult or older peer uses power, control, manipulation, or coercion to take advantage of a child for their own benefit, whether financial, criminal, sexual, or personal. Exploitation always involves an imbalance of power, and the child is used as a means to an end, rather than being valued as a person with rights, autonomy, and dignity.
